Direct Sales Manager

Reports to:  President of Sales

General Description

The Direct Sales Manager will be responsible for building and leading our direct telesales business and expanding our market revenue in identified markets such as targeted groups of consumers (B2C), healthcare providers, chiropractors, and other commercial and professional markets (B2B). The selected candidate will be able to drive sales results through sound direct marketing principles that build our current customer base, test new potential customer targets, leverage the use of trade shows and marketing tools and the management of Human Touch telesales resources. The position will also actively engage potential customers to contribute to the sales and conversion effort.

The candidate must have a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals. Experience developing new markets and evaluating campaign performance is critical. Must be able to build positive, professional relationships both with customers and internal colleagues. Candidate should also possess exceptional customer negotiating skills, an intrinsic understanding of customer requirements and the ability to adequately plan and forecast business in the channel.

Specific position responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement sales and promotional activity plan to ensure planned attainment of channel sales goals, margins and direct selling expenses to meet profit goals.

  2. Build an ever larger base of leads and prospects through acquisition activity and manage effective conversion through the sales funnel. Effectively manage and drive inbound sales calls as well as outbound leads.

  3. Develop customer segment goals for the channel and manage key client relationships and programs.

  4. Work with marketing team to successfully drive the launch of new products and regular promotions. Measure, assess and report on campaign results. Drive refinement of campaigns to drive improved ROI.

  5. Initiate and coordinate development of action plans to penetrate new markets. Coordinate and lead the sales effort and support activity at selected field trade shows.

  6. Ensure that the company’s policies are communicated and adhered.

  7. Evaluate and maintain customer pricing and profitability.

  8. Provide training, coaching and management of telesales resources and solicit feedback to guide ongoing development of the channel

  9. Provides regular internal updates to support sales planning and product forecasting. Track progress against established goals.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Solid computer skills are required, must be able to learn all internal operating systems quickly.

  • Need to have strong understanding of direct marketing principles to guide business decisions and campaigns. Analytical with an ability to effectively measure and assess the return-on-investment of sales campaigns.

  • 3+ years of telesales management experience in high transactional, fast paced, business- to-consumer or business-to-small business sales environment

  • Proven track record of success in meeting and exceeding sales objectives.

  • Out of the box prospecting abilities and comfortable with CRM principles.

  • Exceptional leader with a passion and dedication for mentoring and coaching sales and support employees to success

  • Strong and effective communication, analytical and presentation skills
