Helping the YMCA

The Human Touch Chairs for Charity program launched in November 2018 with a chair donation to the Lakewood YMCA at their 2018 Children's Charity Auction and Dinner. Human Touch's contribution helped raise the funds needed to keep the Lakewood YMCA Camp Oaks summer program going.

For over 50 years, Camp Oakes has taken generations of children, groups, and families to new heights by giving them the opportunity to attend the camp at no cost. Camp Oaks has been able to help kids in the community by delivering the ultimate camp experience, providing high quality programs including fishing, rifles, archery, canoeing and more.

Los Angeles County Fire Department, Pico Rivera Station

In March 2019, Human Touch had the opportunity to donate a Novo XT2 massage chair to the Los Angeles County Fire Department station in Pico Rivera, California. The fire station was immensely grateful for the powerful massage chair, which has helped their team of firefighters to better recover from the daily strains and stresses involved in their jobs.

“This job takes a huge toll on the body,” said David Chambers, engineer for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. “Some of our guys work as many as five-and-a-half 24-hour shifts here, and we have to be ready and alert for emergency calls at any point during those long shifts. Having our Novo XT2 massage chair helps our firefighters to recover and regroup so that we can be physically prepared to handle even the most demanding of situations that come our way.”

Los Angeles Fire Department, Sherman Oaks Station

In May 2019, Human Touch was able to donate a Novo XT Massage Chair to a Los Angeles Fire Department in Sherman Oaks, California. The firefighters at this fire station work hard to serve their community, and their Novo XT has helped them to recover from the toll that this work puts on their bodies.

“Our Novo XT has made a huge impact on my team," said Rich Diede, Los Angeles Firefighter. "Being able to spend even a few minutes in the chair on a regular basis has helped us to alleviate some of the physical stress that we put our bodies through, and it helps us to be even better prepared to do it all again the next day.”

AbilityFirst

AbilityFirst, Long Beach Location

In July 2019, Human Touch donated an iJOY® Massage Chair 4.0 to AbilityFirst. AbilityFirst is an organization dedicated to helping those with disabilities to achieve their personal best.

"We have a meditation and relaxation group that meets once a week and they have added the chair massage to their weekly routines. Our After school program also uses it for story time/relaxation, and in the event that someone needs some quiet time to deescalate a behavior by sitting in the chair with lights off to help them calm down. We cannot thank you enough."
