Interactive Health, Inc. (Parent of Human Touch®) Acquires Relax The Back® Corporation to Mobilize Expansion in the Spinal Health Care Market

LONG BEACH, CA--November 09, 2016 - Human Touch®, the U.S. market leader of innovative massage chairs, Perfect Chair Recliners, and other wellness solutions, is pleased to announce that Interactive Health, Inc., the parent to the Human Touch subsidiary, has acquired all of the outstanding preferred and common shares of Relax The Back Corporation. With the completion of the acquisition on November 4, 2016, the Relax The Back franchise is now owned and operated by Interactive Health, Inc. Specific terms of the transaction are and will remain confidential.

Relax The Back, franchisor of nearly 100 back and neck care specialty retail stores, and Human Touch, an international distributor of ergonomic seating products, have enjoyed a close, mutually successful relationship over the past twenty years. Human Touch is a major supplier of zero gravity recliners and massage chairs to the Relax The Back network. This relationship was further strengthened in 2014 when Human Touch became the franchisee of two Relax The Back stores located in the Boston area.

This acquisition is expected to have a positive impact on both companies. For Human Touch, it provides an integrated presence in the growing neck and back care market at both the wholesale and retail levels. For Relax The Back, it provides access to the resources of a larger company that is well acquainted with the market, its business and people. This mutual familiarity is expected to ease the integration of the two companies and to produce a stronger, more efficient organization.

Dick Palfreyman, the current Chief Executive Officer for Relax The Back will be retiring on December 16, 2016 after a long and successful tenure. David Wood, Chief Executive Officer for Interactive Health, will be assuming responsibility for Relax The Back Corporation, in addition to his existing duties with Human Touch. All current Relax The Back staff at their corporate office will report up to Robert McMillan, Relax The Back CFO and head of Operations.
